Beautiful Arabian Western Show Saddle by the famous saddle maker Shirley Brown, designed by Walter "Chappy" Chapman specifically for the Arabian horse. Walter Chapman was head trainer for Donoghue Arabians for thirty years and one of the best in the industry. Shirley Brown was one of the foremost saddle makers in Texas in the 1960s. This saddle was commissioned in 1966, and it is still in almost-new condition. The leather is soft and supple, the fleece is excellent, the silver appears to be all original, and the tree is sound. It can be ridden in or it can be displayed as the collector's item it is. Either way, the value of this saddle will only continue to go up. The seat measures 16 1/2 inches from the base of the horn to the top middle of the cantel. The silver plate on the cantel has the name "BOB" engraved, and the silver plates on the skirts have the name "RULAAM." Buyer pays shipping and handling.
